Technology

Technology is growing at a fast rate many new technologies are invented  with the years going on. There are some technology facts which are very weird but true. Knowledge about technology is the need of hour and here we have brought some weird tech facts which you should know. So lets see some facts.

1.Email existed before the World Wide Web.

You probably didn't even thought that email existed before world wide web. Yeah but it's true
There is an interesting clip on YouTube  "How to send an Email-Database-1984.This was from a tech TV show called Database and the presenters demonstrated what it took to actually send an email back in those days.
You had to use a computer and a rotary telephone to connect to a service called Micronet. These was pre-WWW so there were no URLs, just numbered web pages and the web page number for email was 7776.

2.Qwerty Keypad was designed to slow you down.

Actually there are two theories to this. First one is that and only makes sense when you look at manual typewriters. If somebody type too fast it will jam keys so qwerty placed common alphabets at a distance to slowdown typist.

Another theory is that telegraph writers designed qwerty layout because it was easier and faster to decipher Morse code,

3.In 1956,5 megabytes (MB) of data weighted a ton.

Yes it's true in old times technology was not advanced as today. In 1956 IBM  launched RAMAC, the first computer with something like hard drive and the weight of it was around a ton.

4.Alaska

Alaska is the only state in America which can be typed on one row of a traditional English QWERTY keyboard.

5.Company running without any supervision.

There is a factory in Japan which can run unsupervised for 1month at a time. Robots build other robots at the rate of 50 per 24-hour shift. These factories are called as “lights out” factories because no human appearance is needed. FANUC, the Japanese robotics company, has been operating this autonomous factory since 2001.
We have come so far in digital technology in the recent 10 years. Technology is growing at a very fast rate and Smart phones, Laptop, Cloud computing these all innovations are revolutionary. However believe it or not this is just a starting and many more advanced technologies are coming soon. There are technologies developing which we have only seen in science fiction movies.

In this post we have discussed about some upcoming technologies that can revolutionize the world of tech. So let's see the top 10 technologies which are coming soon.

  • Chat Bots and Conversational Interfaces

There will be more conversations with computers and technology that emerges to automate even more of our daily processes at work and in life. This is starting to be used now but is still not widely adopted. It will take more artificial intelligence to push this trend forward.

  • Electrovibration Technology

Electrovibration technology will change the mobile touchscreen experience dramatically. You will be able to feel different kinds of texture. I know what you are thinking. The online shopping experience will go notches higher. Imagine shopping for clothes online without worrying about the texture and quality of the cloth.

  • Speech to Speech Translation

In 2012, Microsoft demonstrated impressive speech-to-speech translation and now, real-time multi-language conference calls may finally become a commercial reality in 2017. IBM has also mentioned that it will open its Watson supercomputing platform to third-party developers. This will allow natural language processing features to be built into apps. Imagine discussing important matters across the globe with just a tap, in multiple languages without the aid of a translator or a mediator.

  • Leap Motion
Leap Motion presents an entirely new way to interact with your computers. Put simply, Leap Motion is more accurate than a mouse, as reliable as a keyboard and more sensitive than a touchscreen. For the first time, you can control a computer in three dimensions with your natural hand and finger movements.

  • Air To Fuel
A British firm based on Teesside says it’s designed revolutionary new technology that can produce petrol using air and water. Air Fuel Synthesis in Stockton-on-Tees has produced five litres of petrol since August, but hopes to be in production by 2015 making synthetic fuel targeted at the motor sports sector. The company believes the technique could help solve energy supply problems and curb global warming.

  • Light Peak
Light Peak technology, a method of super-high-data-transfer, will enable more than 100 Gigabytes per second — and eventually whole terabytes per second — within everyday consumer electronics. This enables the copying of entire hard drives in a matter of seconds, although by this time the standard hard drive is probably well over 2TB.

  • TALOS "Real Iron Man Suit"
TALOS stands for Tactical Assault Light Operator Suit, a combat suit that the US Army hopes will become a reality within the next four years. The TALOS provides ballistic, shock and fire protection for Special Operations soldiers.
The aim is to provide these soldiers with better, more mobile and more versatile protection than what currently exists. The development of the TALOS suit will be a collaborative effort between universities, government agencies and corporations.
